Do you want to bring your class out to the woods for a day of woodland based activities?

Wildaboutwoods take children on an exciting journey of woodland discovery. Activities are adapted to meet the requirements of each group.

The sessions make a positive impact on children's confidence, social skills, communication, motivation and concentration, physical skills and knowledge and understanding. Furthermore, we are likely to provide new perspectives for accompanying teachers who see their children learn in a different setting as well as creating a ripple effect when the children share their experiences back at school and home.

What sessions do we offer?

We have sessions for schools either based at Airy Knapp Woods or based in your very own school.

Wildaboutwoods  offer all sorts of activity days for local schools based on Forest School principles. and can tailor the sessions to any age group. The focus is on learning through exploration and discovery outdoors. These sessions can include building dens, creativity, teamwork, exploring the woodland, games, campfires and child-led fun. All you have to do is to email chwildaboutwoods@gmail.com if you would like to arrange a session at the woods or, alternatively if you would like us to visit you, and we can discuss what aspect of the curriculum you would like us to follow and we will build your day around that.

Some of our themed days for younger groups can include focusing on favourite themes and linking this to fun creative activities. E.G Stickman, The Gruffalo, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and more. These can include crafts, treasure-hunts and discovery. We also offer sessions tied into The Great Fire of London, stone age days or we can link the day into art and crafts or science.

The above sessions run from 10am to 2pm.
